About the role
* Pet dog in the household
* Ad Hoc: Every 2nd Saturdays late afternoon
Our warm and welcoming family in Davistown, on the Central Coast, is seeking a nurturing, reliable and experienced nanny to join their family on a long-term basis. The family has a cheerful and energetic three-year-old daughter and are expecting their second baby towards the end of the year. They are looking for someone who can provide additional support as their family grows and build a genuine, long-term connection with them.
Their three- year-old is a happy and playful little girl who loves spending time outdoors, riding her trike, playing on her swing set and trampoline, or going for walks around the neighbourhood. She also enjoys gymnastics, swimming, colouring, puzzles and reading. She thrives in a calm, engaging environment where she can explore through play with a patient, warm and bubbly caregiver.
As the family welcomes their new baby, the role will evolve to provide support to Mum and help with the newborn, while also spending time with the older child when needed. The family is looking for a nanny who is confident caring for a baby and toddler and who can provide a calm, capable extra pair of hands during this new stage of family life.
The nanny’s day may include engaging the children in age-appropriate play and activities, preparing simple and healthy snacks and meals, supporting nap and meal routines, helping with the newborn's care and providing practical support around the home. During quieter periods, the nanny may assist with light household tasks such as tidying up after play, cleaning up from meals and other small childcare-related tasks.
The family has a small Cavoodle who simply needs to be let outside and settled during nap time.
Driving is not required initially, as the family enjoys staying home and going for local walks. Once trust has been established, short local outings may be introduced. The family is open to one or two days per week, with some flexibility around the days and the opportunity for additional or ad hoc hours as their needs evolve.
The ideal nanny will be mature, warm, calm and dependable, with experience caring for babies and young children. They will be confident working independently, as well as alongside Mum, and be someone who is happy to provide practical support without needing to be directed on every task. A nanny who is nurturing, organised and enjoys becoming a trusted part of a family’s routine would be a wonderful fit.
This is a lovely opportunity to join a kind and relaxed family at an exciting time as they welcome their second baby. The family values open communication, flexibility and trust and is looking for someone who can grow with them and become a valued, long-term support to the family.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Organising and planning creative, engaging, and educational activities
• Building a strong relationship with the child
• Ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
• Managing child-related household chores
• Preparing nutritious snacks and meals
• Maintaining all aspects of the care routine for the children
To apply, you MUST have the following experience, attitude, and qualifications:
• Non-smoker
• Support WFH parent
• Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain ASAP)
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience working full-time with children
• Experience with babies and toddlers is essential.
• A minimum of 2 Australian-based child-related references
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain ASAP)
• Current National Criminal Record Check
• Excellent communication and English skills
