Provide operational and professional support to the Head of Department in the leadership and management of Nutrition and Dietetics services. Act as delegate for the Head of Department as required, contributing to strategic planning, workforce initiatives, and service development. Provide advanced clinical expertise and support for complex patient care as required. Lead and coordinate student placement programs across Nutrition and Dietetics service. Develop, implement, and evaluate education, training, and supervision frameworks for students and staff. Contribute to workforce planning and capability development to ensure a sustainable and skilled nutrition and dietetics workforce. Promote a positive team culture that values collaboration, inclusion, learning, and professional growth. Coordinate and contribute to quality improvement, research, and service evaluation activities. Build and maintain effective partnerships with universities, clinical educators, managers, and key stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to support, mentor, and develop staff while contributing to departmental management and strategic initiatives. Expertise in clinical education, including coordinating and supervising student placements, developing learning programs, and fostering a positive learning culture. Advanced clinical dietetics skills with extensive experience providing evidence based nutrition care for patients with complex clinical needs. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across multidisciplinary teams, universities, and external organisations. Commitment to quality improvement, innovation, and professional excellence, with experience leading service development, work force initiatives, research, or quality improvement activities.

Selection Criteria

Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership to Dietitians Australia.Extensive relevant clinical experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of complex case load. Experience in paediatrics and/or renal desirable but not mandatory.Experience in coordinating and facilitating clinical supervision programs for students and staff and experience in managing staff performance.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including group education, advocacy and negotiation skills; and excellent computer skills including a food service/diet management system e.g. CBORD.Demonstrated experience leading quality improvement activities for service development.
