Clinical Lead (Psychologist or Social Worker) - Child Youth Family Team, SECASA (Parental Leave)

Lead, inspire and make a difference in the lives of children, young people and families affected by sexual abuse, family violence and harmful sexual behaviours.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Lead to provide leadership to our Children, Young People and Families Team in a 12-month maternity leave opportunity. This is a part time opportunity of 0.8 EFT until September 2027, based in Dandenong with travel to other SECASA sites as required.

This is a rewarding leadership role for a senior clinician who is committed to trauma-informed practice and supporting children, young people and families impacted by sexual abuse, family violence, and harmful sexual behaviour. As Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed services while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration and innovation.

About the Role

The Clinical Lead provides clinical leadership, supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist therapeutic services to:

• Children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse and/or family violence
• Non-offending family members and carers
• Young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours
• Families requiring support, intervention and therapeutic responses

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll maintain a small clinical caseload while fostering clinical excellence, reflective practice and workforce capability. You will champion evidence-informed, trauma-focused care while contributing to service development, quality improvement and strategic priorities across the program. In this role you will: 

• Provide clinical leadership and expert consultation to team members.
• Deliver high-quality clinical supervision, reflective practice and case review processes.
• Support staff wellbeing, professional growth and clinical decision-making.
• Promote best-practice, trauma-informed and developmentally responsive therapeutic interventions.
• Oversee clinical risk assessment and management.
• Contribute to service planning, innovation and continuous quality improvement.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

You are an experienced Social Worker or Psychologist who thrives in a leadership role and is passionate about supporting clinicians to deliver exceptional trauma-informed care. You will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology.
• Demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families impacted by sexual abuse and/or family violence.
• Experience working with young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviours is highly regarded.
• Strong clinical assessment, therapeutic and risk management skills.
• Experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring and leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally safe and inclusive practice.
