About the Role:
MMT Recruitment is representing a regional health service in their search for a passionate Aboriginal Health Worker. In this role, you’ll work directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families, supporting physical and mental wellbeing through culturally safe care, advocacy, and health education.
Duties Include:
Promote health literacy and support navigation of health and social services
Deliver culturally responsive care across various programs (e.g., mental health, early childhood)
Collaborate with GPs, allied health professionals, and community teams
Facilitate client access to appointments and build community trust
Contribute to Aboriginal-specific health initiatives and outreach
What We’re Looking For:
Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (Essential)
Previous experience in Aboriginal health or community support roles
Strong communication skills and community engagement experience
WWVP registration and driver’s licence required
Understanding of regional community needs and cultural values
