Position: Team Leader Environmental  

Area of Work: Overall South Brisbane - Position starts ASAP. 

Are you dedicated to making a difference? Do you think and live Green? Take the lead and make an impact with this role, we are seeking a Team Leader for our new environmental maintenance team within our construction area.

In this role you will take the lead and manage UDL operational staff working on maintenance-based projects. This role will encourage the growth of this newly created area and ensure our spaces are green and thriving.

Key Responsibilities

As a valued, experienced Team Leader, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

•  Oversee environmental projects and ongoing maintenance of work at each stage of a project. Undertaking bushland restoration, bush regeneration, revegetation, weed management, natural area maintenance and environmental rehabilitation works.

• Conduct site inspections and monitor progress against work programs.

•  Manage projects during both maintenance phases to adhere to budget and timeline requirements and in addition to specifications and drawings.

•  Liaise with contractors and external stakeholders to plan, prepare, and action works.

•  Liaise with traffic and traffic management personnel.

•  Coordinate staff and resources; equipment, and materials for each project phase.

•  Maintain adequate quality control to ensure no rework is required.

•  Ensure that a daily toolbox meeting is conducted, and staff attend this prior to commencing work on each site.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, candidates must have:

•  Proven experience as a Team Leader (essential)

•  Current Australian Driver’s Licence (essential).

• Current industry white card (essential).

• Current right to work in Australia (essential)

• Sound knowledge of South East Queensland native and environmental weed species

•  Certificate III or IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent advantage).

•  2+ years minimum of relevant experience in Natural resource management or Environmental management within the Construction/Horticulture/Consulting/Landscape/Urban Development industry or in bush regeneration, environmental restoration, vegetation management or related environmental services.

• Experience working on local government, infrastructure or environmental management contracts. (advantage).

•  Proven ability to execute a broad range of environmental/horticultural maintenance projects.

•  Ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy/detail.

•  Sound technical knowledge of plants and landscaping techniques.
