Design Draftsperson / Estimator

Safemaster Safety Products is one of Western Australia’s leading designers, manufacturers, suppliers and installers of height safety systems, roof access systems and fall prevention solutions.

Based in Canning Vale, we are a successful family-owned WA business with more than 25 years of industry experience, delivering solutions across commercial, industrial and construction projects throughout Western Australia.

Due to continued growth, we have created a new opportunity for an experienced Design Draftsperson / Estimator to join our Sales Department.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Director, this is a hands-on role combining drafting, design and estimating. You will work closely with our sales, engineering and fabrication teams to develop practical, compliant and commercially viable height safety and fall prevention solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed drawings and designs using AutoCAD;

• Reviewing and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, project specifications and BOQs;

• Designing height safety, roof access and fall prevention systems;

• Preparing estimates and assisting with project pricing;

• Developing practical and cost-effective solutions to meet client and project requirements;

• Liaising with clients and internal teams regarding technical requirements; and

• Attending sites for measurements and inspections where required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within the building or construction industry – essential;

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD;

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings;

• A good understanding of BOQs, specifications and construction documentation;

• Drafting, design and/or estimating experience within a construction-related environment;

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy;

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;

• A self-motivated approach and strong work ethic; and

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of height safety systems, working at heights requirements and relevant Australian Standards would be highly regarded but is not essential.

This is an office-based position in Canning Vale. Working from home is not available.
