Bunbury Catholic College is a well-established and highly regarded Years 7 to 12 co-educational College located in the heart of Bunbury, Western Australia.

We are seeking an experienced, passionate and student-centred educator to join our Pastoral Leadership Team as Head of Year, commencing January 2027.

About the Role

The Head of Year is a key member of the College's Pastoral Leadership Team and provides leadership, guidance and support to students, staff and families within a designated year group.

Reporting to the Principal through the Deputy Principal (Pastoral Care), the successful applicant will be responsible for the effective leadership and pastoral management of their year level, ensuring student wellbeing and engagement remain central to the educational experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing pastoral leadership and support to students within the year group.

• Building positive relationships with students, families and staff.

• Leading and supporting Homeroom teachers and pastoral initiatives.

• Managing student wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral matters.

• Contributing to the development and implementation of College pastoral programs.

• Supporting the professional growth of staff within the year level.

• Participating in staff appraisal and development processes.

• Issuing pastoral directives as required.

• Actively contributing to the Pastoral Leadership Team and College-wide initiatives.

• Supporting the Catholic ethos and co-curricular life of the College.

Salary:
In accordance with the WA Catholic School Teachers Enterprise Agreement 2023 and CEWA Salary Schedule, including:

• Teacher Classification Salary

• Promotional Positions Allowance Category 2, Level 1
