About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Administrator to join the Wynstan Group IT team and keep our technology secure, reliable and running smoothly across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a hands-on role covering servers, virtualisation, networking, cloud, storage, backup and security, with opportunities to contribute to infrastructure improvements and projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

Infrastructure & Virtualisation

• Administer and maintain VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA and DRS.

• Manage Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP and related services.

• Monitor performance, capacity, patching and infrastructure lifecycle.

• Support server upgrades, virtualisation improvements and cloud migration.

Networking & Communications

• Support WAN, LAN, wireless, VPN and SD-WAN across multiple sites.

• Work with carriers and technology providers to maintain reliable connectivity.

• Support Microsoft Teams, Teams Calling, AV and collaboration services.

• Assist with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.

Security & Resilience

• Support firewalls, network segmentation and secure remote access.

• Contribute to Zero Trust and security initiatives.

• Maintain patching, hardening and monitoring standards.

• Support vulnerability management, incident response, backup and disaster recovery.

Servers, Databases & Storage

• Support SQL Server and other business-critical database platforms.

• Manage storage, replication, snapshots and backup technologies.

• Monitor capacity, performance and availability across core platforms.

Projects, Vendors & Stakeholders

• Contribute to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Work with vendors, carriers and managed service providers to resolve issues and maintain service levels.

• Partner with IT and business teams to deliver practical technology solutions.

• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation and asset records.

About You

You’re a practical, hands-on infrastructure professional who enjoys solving problems, working across different technologies and collaborating with others.

We’re looking for:

• Solid experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.

• Hands-on VMware vSphere experience, including ESXi, vCenter, HA and DRS.

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory and enterprise networking.

• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Azure and hybrid environments.

• Knowledge of SQL Server, storage, backup and disaster recovery.

• Understanding of infrastructure security, firewalls, patching and hardening.

• Experience working with vendors, carriers and managed service providers.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder skills.

• A collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge and support the wider IT team.

• A degree or relevant industry qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline would be beneficial, as would certifications such as VMware, Microsoft, Cisco or firewall/security certifications.
