Cafe All Rounder/ Cook

About the role

The Coffee Maker is a busy, independent cafe in beautiful Corlette, Port Stephens. This is a hands-on role that is primarily kitchen-based, preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items, but you'll be equally happy jumping behind the coffee machine or helping the front-of-house team when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch menu items

• Complete daily kitchen preparation

• Work independently during busy service periods

• Follow recipes, portioning and presentation standards

• Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen

• Make quality coffee and assist behind the coffee machine when required

• Help with front-of-house service during busy periods

• Assist with dishes, cleaning and general cafe duties

• Work as part of a small team and help wherever needed

About you

• Previous commercial kitchen or cafe cooking experience preferred

• Confident cooking breakfast and lunch

• Able to work independently and stay calm during busy service

• Barista experience or confident using a commercial coffee machine

• Take pride in food quality and presentation

• Positive, team-oriented attitude

• Reliable, punctual and take pride in your work

• Happy being a true all-rounder rather than being restricted to one area of the cafe
