Venue Manager

Coffee Capp’ital is looking for a hands-on Venue Manager who wants to lead from the floor — not from the office.

You’ll take ownership of our 120-seat venue, lead and train the team, create memorable customer experiences, maintain high standards and keep daily operations running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone warm, energetic, reliable and commercially switched-on — someone who spots problems before being asked, takes initiative and enjoys building better systems.

We don’t expect you to walk into a perfectly established operation. We want someone excited to build, learn and grow with us.

Daytime-focused hospitality. No late nights. Real ownership.

Salary: $78,000–$82,000 + super, depending on experience.

As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the daily operation of the venue

• Managing and developing the FOH, coffee/bar and service teams

• Training, coaching and maintaining strong staff standards

• Delivering a consistently high level of customer service

• Handling customer complaints and resolving issues confidently

• Managing rosters and controlling labour costs

• Monitoring sales, wastage and operational performance

• Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure smooth service

• Maintaining cleanliness, presentation, food safety and compliance standards

• Ensuring opening and closing procedures are completed correctly

• Identifying problems and improving systems rather than waiting for owner direction

We want a manager who will step in before being asked — whether that means helping during a rush, dealing with a staff call-in, speaking with an unhappy customer or reorganising the floor when service slows down.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Hospitality management or strong leadership experience

• Experience in a busy café, restaurant or similar venue

• A genuine hands-on management style

• Strong people and customer-service skills

• Confidence managing and developing a team

• Good commercial awareness

• The ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure

• Initiative, reliability and a strong sense of ownership

• A willingness to learn, receive feedback and build systems with us
