Medical Receptionist - Cairns Urgent Care Clinic

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our fast-paced Urgent Care Clinic based in Edmonton. 

Reporting to the Practice Manager, and working as part of a team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality patient experience as well as providing administrative support services to the clinical teams enabling them to run efficiently and professionally. 

Key responsibilities of the role: 

• Providing comprehensive administrative support to the clinical teams;

• Delivering excellent patient management including maintaining patient flow, greeting patients, recording and updating patient information and ensuring a smooth journey to and from the reception area and consulting rooms;

• Co-ordinate Medicare/DVA billings.

• Maintain electronic appointment booking systems, contact book, reminder systems.

To be successful for this position, you must have at least one (1) year of previous experience as a Receptionist/Administrator, preferably within a General or Specialist Medical Practice or Hospital, together with: 

• A “can do” attitude and be a proactive/forward thinker

• Being a self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn

• Be capable of working in a fast pace environment

• Have the proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the team

• Excellent planning and organisational skills together with the ability to priorities a number of competing priorities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service

• proficiency with Microsoft applications/Tech Savvy

• A mature attitude and ability to resolve conflict in a positive and respectful manner

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information

In addition, experience with Best Practice Software would be highly regarded. 

This is a casual position and the successful applicant must have flexibility and be able to work Monday to Friday between 8am-10pm and weekends 8.45am – 6pm as well as covering any sick or holiday leave.
