Join our growing Service and Maintenance team at our Rouse Hill Maintenance Facility, NSW, as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter. This is an exciting opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople while helping maintain and overhaul the rolling stock that supports Sydney Metro, including Australia's first driverless train network. Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm, you'll gain practical experience, develop valuable trade skills, and complete nationally recognised training while contributing to a high-performing team.

What You'll Learn and Do

Under the guidance of qualified tradespeople and supervisors, you'll:

• Learn how to carry out overhaul and maintenance activities on rolling stock bogies and train components.
• Assist with inspections, servicing, repairs, and maintenance checks on driverless trains.
• Develop skills in identifying faults and supporting corrective maintenance activities.
• Learn to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Gain experience with specialised processes including crimping, torquing, spot welding, sealant application, painting, and other rail industry techniques.
• Learn how to safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
• Complete quality checks and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workplace through 5S practices.
• Work collaboratively with tradespeople, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
• Successfully complete the requirements of your apprenticeship training program.
