The Role
HDR is seeking an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join our National Building Engineering Services (BES) team.
With a focus on delivering complex mission critical and data centre projects across Australia and the broader region, this is an opportunity for an experienced consulting engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership with project delivery, client engagement and team development.

In the role of Associate Electrical Engineer, we’ll count on you to:
Lead the design and delivery of mission critical and data centre projects, supporting clients through all stages of the project lifecycle.Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing design oversight, technical assurance and quality leadership.Drive successful project outcomes through effective multidisciplinary collaboration.Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges involving power distribution, resilience, system integration and energy efficiency.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.Support business development activities including proposals, tenders and technical presentations.Mentor and develop engineers, contributing to capability building and the continued growth of the Melbourne electrical practice.Take on Project Leader responsibilities, managing project delivery, coordination, programme and performance.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineeringChartership with Engineers Australia (CPEng)Typically, 12+ years’ experience in electrical design within a consulting environmentConsulting experience is essential.Data Centre / Mission Critical project experience (highly desirable / preferred)Strong track record in leading electrical discipline delivery on complex projectsProven experience maintaining hands-on technical involvement in design and deliveryStrong understanding of relevant Australian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including IEC, IEEE and TIA-942Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholdersProven experience delivering building services (MEP) projects across all design stagesExperience in client relationship management and stakeholder engagementExperience with project financials, resource planning, and delivery managementProficiency in software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Visio, ETAP, Vipcodia, PowerCad (or similar)
