SSS AUS is seeking experienced and reliable HC/HR Truck Drivers to join our transport and scaffold yard operations team based in Eagle Farm.

This is a hands-on driving role delivering and collecting scaffold equipment across Brisbane and surrounding regions. It is more than simply driving from A to B — you will be working closely with our yard and site teams to ensure scaffold equipment is loaded, restrained, transported and delivered safely and efficiently.

The Role

Based from our Eagle Farm scaffold yard, you will be responsible for safely transporting scaffold equipment and materials to and from construction projects.

Your duties will include:

• Delivering and collecting scaffold equipment from commercial, residential and industrial construction sites

• Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently

• Correctly securing scaffold stillages, tube, boards and other equipment using appropriate load-restraint systems

• Completing daily vehicle pre-start inspections

• Following delivery schedules and site instructions

• Safely entering, manoeuvring and unloading within active construction sites

• Maintaining appropriate load security throughout transport

• Reporting vehicle defects, delivery issues, incidents or delays promptly

• Completing delivery documentation and other required paperwork

• Communicating professionally with site supervisors, customers, yard personnel and the transport team

• Maintaining your allocated vehicle and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition

• Assisting with scaffold yard operations when required

What You’ll Need

Essential:

• Current HC/HR Driver Licence

• Current LF Forklift High Risk Work Licence

• Minimum 2 years’ heavy vehicle driving experience

• Current Construction Industry White Card

• Good understanding of load restraint and transport safety

• Ability to safely manoeuvre heavy vehicles around active construction sites

• Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow site procedures

• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively with minimal supervision

• Good communication skills and a professional attitude

• Ability to accommodate early starts and changing delivery schedules

Highly regarded:

• Moffett or other truck-mounted forklift experience

• Experience transporting scaffold, steel or construction materials

• Experience using chains, straps and other load-restraint equipment

• Dogging qualifications

• Truck-mounted crane experience

Training and competency verification may be provided for suitable candidates where required.

The Person We’re Looking For

You understand that being a professional construction truck driver involves more than sitting behind the wheel. You take responsibility for your vehicle, load, equipment and the safety of the people working around you.

You are comfortable working around scaffold yards and active construction sites, can manage changing site conditions and restricted access, and know when to stop and seek assistance rather than taking unnecessary risks.

Most importantly, you are reliable, safety-conscious, team focused and willing to help get the job done properly.
