Oral Health Therapist

We seek a bright, caring, enthusiastic Oral Health Therapist for 2-3 days a week to join our friendly, happy specialist orthodontic team. You can develop advanced clinical skills in high quality, specialist orthodontics. This is an amazing OHT position. Initially, this will be a 9-month locum position, covering for a team member who will be taking maternity leave. Pending the business operational requirements, this opportunity and role is likely to continue, as the practice continues to grow.

ABOUT US

Dr Geoffrey Wexler Orthodontist is a well-established specialist orthodontic practice in the wonderful Toorak Village, providing a diverse range of orthodontic treatments, including conventional braces, technologically advacned SureSmile® digitally-made wire braces, enabling truly hidden, invisible lingual braces and clear aligners Children's early intervention orthdontics and teen-age orthodontics are a large part of the practice. We work in a multi-disciplinary environment and closely with many other excellent general dental and specialist disciplines.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key clinical assistant to our Specialist Orthodontist and our highly skilled and experienced team, you will be very important in supporting the oral health and orthodontic care of our patients in our accredited practice.

Your responsibilities would include:

• Assisting with orthodontic procedures
• Taking excellent clinical photographs and intra-oral digital records
• Maintaining accurate clinical records and treatment notes
• Maintaining a high standard of infection control and clinical care
• Supporting patients throughout their orthodontic treatment journey
• Providing oral hygiene instruction and education to orthodontic patients
• Working collaboratively with the orthodontist and wider clinical team

There will be ample learning and skill development opportunities

We are looking for someone who is:

• Registered with AHPRA as an Oral Health Therapist
• Friendly, caring and passionate about patient care
• Confident communicating with children, teenagers and adults
• Professional, well-presented and approachable
• Organised, reliable and attentive to detail
• Able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment
• Enthusiastic about learning and developing new skills
• Interested in building a career within specialist orthodontics
• Previous orthodontic experience is not essential.
