Duty Manager – The Elwood Tavern

The Elwood Tavern is a proper independently owned neighbourhood pub serving classic pub food, cold beer, and genuine hospitality. We’re looking for a Duty Manager who knows how to run a busy floor, support a team, and look after locals the right way. This role works closely with — and directly supports — the Venue Manager.

The Role

• Run shifts across bar, bistro, and floor

• Support the Venue Manager with daily operations

• Lead staff and keep service smooth and consistent

• Handle customer issues with common sense and confidence

• Maintain RSA and venue safety standards

• Assist with stock control, ordering, and cashing up

• Keep the venue clean, organised, and welcoming

About You

• Some previous management or supervisory experience is essential

• Good with people — steady, approachable, and reliable

• Hands‑on operator who leads by example

• Strong understanding of RSA and Victorian licensing

• Loves classic pub hospitality and the community vibe

• Available weekends — non‑negotiable

• Keen to learn — lots of on‑the‑job training provided

Hours & Pay

• 20–38 hours per week

• Hospitality Award wages

• Paid weekly

• Consistent roster with room to grow
