The role

We are seeking two detail-oriented and customer-focused Finance Officers to join our Client Accounting team within Financial Operations, both on full-time, 6-month fixed-term contracts based in Sydney, with the possibility of extension.

These roles have been created to provide additional support during a period of significant business transformation, including the implementation of a new global time capture system and broader finance systems initiatives. 

Reporting to the Financial Systems and Operations Manager, you will play an important role in delivering a professional and accurate finance service to both internal and external clients. Acting as a key point of contact for lawyers, legal assistants and business services teams, you will provide support across billing, eBilling, matter management and finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide finance, billing and matter management support to stakeholders across the firm.
• Manage client and matter administration, ensuring information is maintained accurately and in accordance with firm procedures.
• Coordinate eBilling activities, including system maintenance, uploads, vendor liaison and issue resolution.
• Set up and maintain client billing arrangements, special rates and matter information.
• Support billing enquiries, WIP management activities and general finance-related requests.
• Deliver training and support on billing processes, time recording and finance systems.
• Maintain finance procedures and documentation, while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Support finance projects and broader operational initiatives as required.

Requirements

• Experience in billing, eBilling, finance operations or a similar finance support role.
• Experience in a law firm, professional services or financial services environment will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
• Knowledge of Aderant Expert or a similar practice management system.
• Confidence using spreadsheets, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with time-based accounting systems.
