About the role
Overview
Reporting into the Risk Manager, this is a hands-on role that will see you assisting in the support, development and compliance of all business and safety programs, communicating with all levels of management and providing reporting when required. This is a critical role in the day-to-day management of Menzies Aviation Group’s risk and compliance by ensuring all measures are being managed and the business is meeting and maintaining all regulatory obligations and requirements.
Some of the roles core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Help facilitate the communication of WHS matters to all levels of the business: conducting the organisation's safety induction programs and wellbeing training
Assisting with the upkeep of the WHS (MORSE) Management System, managing the risk-registers, policies, procedures, tools and resources as required
Complete SMART inspections across all areas of the business
Assist in collating SMART Data as required for WHS meetings
Assisting with monitoring workplace compliance with applicable legislation, policies and procedures
Provide assistance reporting and documenting site WHS matters, incidents and claims and assisting with investigations as required.
Hands-on operational involvement, including inspections and practically implementing proactive and reactive recommendations
Providing support in the development of policies and procedures in line with legislation
Assist with co-ordinating the WHS Committee and safety meetings and driving any initiatives and actions from the meetings
Participate in Supplier Evaluation requests and supplier compliance approval
Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses
Assist with the education and training of employees on regulation and industry changes.
Participate in internal, external and stakeholder audits ensuring site maintains compliance
Support the implementation of any compliance outcomes from audits
Work down as directed
The successful candidate will be extremely self-motivated and have a proactive attitude with a high degree of initiative. You are highly organised and possess the ability to prioritise workload efficiently and have a positive and collaborative approach to your work. You have secure judgement, maturity, and the ability to use discretion in handling matters of a sensitive and/or confidential nature.
In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

Computer literacy – strong Office 365 skills (Teams, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and use an online dashboard system
A flexible attitude and team player mentality, performing additional duties out of scope as required
Safety, Security and Compliance

Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures
Fully understand the company health and safety policy
Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company
