VR General Practitioner

About the role

The Regent Medical Group is seeking a VR General Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team in Preston, VIC 3072. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to develop your general practice skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. As a VR General Practitioner, you will work alongside experienced practitioners to provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to our diverse patient population. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible medical care to the local community whilst supporting your professional development and progression in general practice.

Key responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients across a range of acute and chronic conditions

• Conducting thorough patient consultations, including history taking, clinical examination and diagnosis

• Developing and implementing appropriate treatment and management plans in line with clinical guidelines

• Prescribing medications and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate

• Performing minor procedures as required within general practice settings

• Maintaining accurate, timely and detailed medical records for all patient consultations

• Collaborating with practice staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care

• Contributing to the development of practice policies and protocols where appropriate

• Engaging in professional development activities and reflective practice

• Maintaining compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and professional standards

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Australian Medical Board as a medical practitioner

• Completion of or active enrolment in an accredited General Practice Training program (such as RACGP's VR pathway)

• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in general practice

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds

• Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based medicine and professional development

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team

• Sound clinical decision-making and time management abilities

• A compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery

• Experience in managing both acute presentations and chronic disease management is advantageous
