About the role
About Us
Caulfield Grammar School is an internationally recognised, independent, co-educational school offering exceptional education from Early Learning to Year 12. With more than 3,700 students and 1,000 staff across our Caulfield, Malvern, Shelford and Wheelers Hill Campuses, and the Caulfield Ascend student experience programs in Yarra Junction and Kakadu, we continue to innovate and inspire. High-quality learning through exceptional teaching sits at the heart of everything we do —ensuring meaningful learning every day, in every experience, for every learner, for life.
Shelford Campus
Opening in 2027 in the heart of Caulfield, Shelford Campus will be Caulfield Grammar School’s newest Junior School. The campus will initially offer exceptional education for students in Prep and Years 4–6, before growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School. This represents a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for a founding teaching team to shape the culture and community from the ground up, delivering high‑impact learning in an outstanding purpose‑designed environment.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of language learning and help establish an exceptional Mandarin Language program at our new Shelford Campus.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Campus, the Junior School Languages (Mandarin) Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and learning leaders to deliver an engaging and contemporary Mandarin Language program that reflects the School's values and commitment to excellence. Through a dynamic and student-centred approach, you will provide meaningful language learning experiences that foster communication skills, cultural understanding, curiosity and confidence.
Working with students, you will have the unique opportunity to design and implement well-structured learning programs that support students' linguistic, social and intellectual development. You will create inclusive and engaging learning environments that cater to diverse learning needs, encourage active participation and support every student to achieve success.
As a founding member of the Shelford Campus team, you will play a key role in shaping a positive culture of learning, collaboration and innovation. You will contribute to the development of a vibrant and connected school community where students are encouraged to embrace diversity, think globally and develop a lifelong passion for learning.
This role also includes an additional responsibility for the first year, with dedicated time to lead the development of an aligned Mandarin curriculum across Caulfield Grammar School's three Junior Schools. Working in partnership with colleagues at our Malvern and Wheelers Hill campuses, you will drive a shared vision for high-quality language teaching and learning, develop an aligned Prep to Year 6 curriculum, and support best practice across all campuses.
This is a ongoing part-time opportunity which has a flexible FTE arrangement.
