H&S Brothers group PTY LTD H & S Brothers Group is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join the team, taking on the construction, maintenance, and repair of structures and fixtures using timber, plywood, wallboard, and related materials. You'll work from plans and specifications, take precise measurements, cut and assemble materials, and make sure every job meets construction standards and safety requirements. Task & responsibilities Reviewing architectural drawings, blueprints, and written specifications to work out what materials are needed, the precise measurements involved, and the correct sequence of steps for installation.   Choosing and ordering appropriate timber and other building materials based on the job requirements, then planning out cutting layouts to minimise waste and ensure accuracy.

  Measuring and cutting materials to the required dimensions, then fitting together and securing (nailing or fastening) the shaped components into finished parts or structures.   Constructing the load-bearing timber framework of a building along with roof trusses and rafters, installing sub-flooring and finished floorboards, and using levels and other tools to check that all structural elements are straight, square, and true.   Fixing fascia boards along roof edges, covering roof structures with sheathing material, and installing external wall cladding as well as door and window frames.

  Building and shaping timber components off-site or in a workshop so they're ready to be transported and installed as complete units (e.g., cabinetry, staircases, or built-in fittings).   Cutting precision joints (such as mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, or lap joints) that allow wood pieces to connect securely without relying solely on nails or screws.    Building temporary timber moulds that hold poured concrete in place until it sets and cures.

  Fixing or restoring existing wooden fittings, fixtures, or structural elements that have become damaged or worn.   Occasionally handling non-timber materials such as plastic laminates, perspex (acrylic sheeting), and various metals, depending on the specific job requirements. Qualification & experience Certificate III in Carpentry  At least 1 year of relevant industry experience  Strong drawing, blueprint, and specification reading skills  Confident use of hand and power tools  Experience working with timber, laminates, perspex, and light metals  Practical experience in wall, roof, and floor framing, plus formwork  Solid understanding of WHS regulations and building codes  Good physical fitness, including comfort working at heights and in varied conditions  Valid driver's license and White Card
