About the role
About Us – Dalekit
Established in 1997, Dalekit is a thriving Australian-owned and operated family business specialising in the manufacturing of internal and external blinds, awnings and roller shutters. As a market leader, we pride ourselves on leveraging the latest technology available globally to deliver quality products to our customers.
About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Assemblers to join our Externals team in South Windsor.
This is a varied, hands-on manufacturing role across our external product range – roller shutters, zip screens, roof systems and folding arm awnings. Depending on where you're needed, your day may include assembling products to job sheet specifications, cutting aluminium and steel components on saw equipment, picking and packing parts, helping wrap and prepare items for despatch, and general factory support.
This role is intentionally flexible – you'll be trained across multiple areas and may be asked to move between tasks or lend a hand to other team members and departments as production needs change from day to day.
The role is fast-paced and physical, involving small powered hand tools, material handling and teamwork to meet daily production targets. All employees are expected to comply with WH&S legislation and company safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly
• Assemble roller shutters, zip screens, folding arm awnings and other external products to job sheet specifications
• Follow in-house manufacturing processes accurately
• Utilise hand tools (drills, rivet guns, etc.) to assemble products
• Learn to assemble multiple product lines as required
• Ensure quality standards and production deadlines are met
• Maintain work areas, tools and equipment
Saw Cutting (as required)
• Operate the steel saw to cut tubes and extensions
• Use computer-based (upcut) saw to cut aluminium extrusions
• Inspect materials for damage prior to cutting
• Arrange cutting sequences for optimum material usage
• Carry and manoeuvre full-length extrusions safely
• Maintain saw equipment and report any irregularities or malfunctions
Parts & Sub-Assembly (as required)
• Pick relevant parts and pack securely per job sheet
• Wrap loose items to prevent damage to componentry
• Complete sub-assembly tasks as directed
• Maintain stock levels within Assembly/Parts
General
• Conduct quality checks throughout the production process
• Perform occasional heavy lifting
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workspace
• Assist with wrapping, labelling and preparing items for despatch as needed
• Assist other team members and other areas of the factory whenever and wherever needed
• Duties may vary from day to day depending on production requirements
• Complete other tasks as requested by a Supervisor or Foreman
About You
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or a similar factory role preferred (preferred but not essential)
• Competent using hand tools such as drills and rivet guns
• Experience operating saws or machinery an advantage (or willingness to learn)
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and material calculations
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Able to work both autonomously and as part of a small team
• Good physical strength and stamina (able to lift up to 25kg or more, occasionally as required)
• Valid Australian work rights
What We Offer
• Stable full-time hours with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule
• Varied, hands-on role across Assembly, Saw Cutting and Parts
• Opportunity to learn multiple product lines and factory processes
• Supportive, family-owned workplace that values safety, teamwork and quality
How to Apply
