Structural Engineer - Sydney or Melbourne

Woolacotts are seeking experienced and driven Structural Engineers to join our dynamic teams in Sydney and Melbourne

Woolacotts have been in operation for over 90 years, we have gained expertise across a diverse range of sectors, including aviation and industrial; justice and emergency; health and aged care; education; community infrastructure and residential.

Support our Operations Director and Principal Engineers with the Structural design and documentation and undertake engineering analysis and design assignments.

Your other responsibilities will include:

• Technical Expertise: Analyze and design structures in compliance with Australian Standards and industry best practices using engineering software such as Microstran, RAPT, Inducta, Spacegass.

• Project Management: Oversee day-to-day engineering assignments, ensuring timely and professional delivery of projects to client specifications.

• Business Development: Collaborate with the Principal Engineer and Operations Director to identify growth opportunities, manage client instructions, and develop new business.

• Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Operations Director regarding operational activities and business opportunities.

• Client Engagement: Liaise directly with clients to meet project requirements and maintain relationships.

• Site Visits: Conduct site inspections and surveys as required to confirm design solutions.

• Health and Safety: Adhere to WHS legislation and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet WCE quality standards, adhering to internal policies and procedures.

To be successful you must have the following:

Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years relevant experience
Professional Qualifications: CP Eng, MIE Aust
Working knowledge of Australian Standards
Experience in managing internal/external resources in delivery
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Self motivated, confident, energetic and creative
Software familiarity-RAPT,RAM Concept, BIM, ETABS, Space Gass
Strong organization and time management skills
Be proactive and driven with strong business acumen
Ability to work independently and as part of the team
