About the role
Waikiki Private Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Nurse Manager (Theatre Services) to provide leadership, management and operational oversight of our Theatre Complex.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient outcomes, fostering a high-performing team culture, and driving excellence in perioperative services.
Our Theatre Complex includes:
Two Holding Bays
Two Operating Theatres
Five-Bed Recovery Unit
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient and patient-centred care while supporting the continued growth and development of the hospital.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs Clinical Nurse Manager, you will:
Provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the Theatre Complex.
Promote a culture of patient safety, quality improvement and clinical excellence.
Lead clinical governance, risk management and compliance initiatives.
Drive achievement of performance and financial targets through effective resource management.
Develop and implement recruitment, retention and succession planning strategies.
Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Build and maintain strong relationships with medical practitioners, clinicians and key stakeholders.
Lead and support change management initiatives across the department.
Encourage critical thinking, innovation and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all mandatory, regulatory and accreditation requirements, including NSQHS Standards and LARU licensing requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
Significant perioperative/theatre experience.
Proven leadership and people management experience.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
Sound understanding of Human Resource principles and workforce management.
Experience driving quality improvement and accreditation activities.
A collaborative, positive and forward-thinking leadership style.
A commitment to excellence in patient care and service delivery.
