About the role

As our Head of HSEQ, you’ll lead the development and execution of IOR’s health, safety, environment, and quality strategy across a diverse national operation. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people, sites, and customers operate safely, while driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and strong safety culture outcomes across the business.

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IOR’s HSEQ management system, including procedures, policies, and programs.
• Drive risk management activities including hazard reporting , incident investigations, audits, and maintaining the HSEQ risk register.
• Provide expert advice to leaders and teams on HSEQ legislation, compliance, and best practice across all operations.
• Lead HSEQ training, capability uplift, and engagement initiatives while mentoring and developing the HSE team.
• Specifically improve data and reporting visibility for teams and provide insights across organsiational performance

What you’ll bring

You’re a passionate safety leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation. You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, and you’re driven to create safer workplaces while building a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Relevant Qualifications in Health & Safety (or similar) with strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and standards.
• Proven experience (5–10+ years) in a senior HSEQ or safety leadership role, ideally within fuel, transport, industrial, or high‑risk environments.
• Strong capability in incident investigation, risk assessment methodologies, and safety systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coach at all levels.
• Experience leading a HSE team and driving continuous improvement, with a proactive, pragmatic and solutions‑focused mindset.
