Freight Handler/Forklift Operator

Logiwest Express is a local privately owned Transport and Logistics service provider operating throughout the South-West and Mid-West, and Great Southern of Western Australia. Our dynamic business is currently seeking to employ experienced Freight Handler/Forklift Operators to join the team at our Welshpool premises.

Reporting to the on site Management Team the successful applicants will join the AFTERNOON and NIGHT SHIFT teams responsible for the loading and timely departure of all outbound trailers, and efficient unloading of inbound vehicles. The ideal candidates will have some exposure or experience in a similar general freight role, a reasonable geographical knowledge of WA, be physically fit, and be able to demonstrate commitment to both Safety and Customer Service. The ability to work in and with a team is paramount!

Key duties will include:

·    Manual Freight Handling - unloading vehicles and sorting freight     

Efficient and safe loading/unloading of freight off of and onto vehicles via Fork Lift

·         Proven ability to work autonomously with initiative,  and also follow procedure and instructions

·        The willingness to work afternoon or night shift

Prerequisites for the role are:

·         Current Work Safe Forklift Licence

·         Experience in loading/unloading and handling General Freight, and Load Restraint

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         The ability to work within a team environment

The hourly rate for the role is Award based with applicable penalties.
