Warehouse & Logistics Manager - Full Time

Hirsch Wine Group is a family-owned wine production and services business based in the Yarra Valley.

We provide winemaking, bottling, storage, logistics and dry goods services to wineries and wine brands across Australia, alongside producing our own portfolio of wines.

Our winery and bottling operations are based in Yarra Glen, with our dedicated warehousing operation located in Silvan.

About the Silvan Warehouse

The Silvan facility is our dedicated storage and logistics hub, holding packaged wine, dry goods and client-owned inventory - all on pallets.

The warehouse services both Hirsch Wine Group and external winery clients, so accurate stock control, organisation and communication are critical. The role manages regular receivals, dispatches, customer collections, winery transfers and palletised stock movements.

The Role

We are looking for a full-time Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Silvan warehouse.

This is a hands-on role, but importantly, it is also a management and administration position. We need someone who can process orders in a timely efficient manner, knows what stock is in the warehouse, where it is located, what is arriving, what is leaving and can maintain accurate records across multiple clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the Silvan warehouse

• Maintaining accurate inventory and stock records

• Managing client-owned stock and reporting

• Receiving and dispatching finished wine and dry goods

• Coordinating freight, deliveries and customer collections

• Managing pallet locations and warehouse space

• Preparing orders for dispatch

• Coordinating stock movements between Silvan and our Yarra Glen winery

• Liaising directly with clients, transport companies and the HWG team

• Loading and unloading trucks

• Regular stocktakes and reconciliation of discrepancies

• Maintaining accurate documentation for all stock movements

• Managing general warehouse consumables, pallets and materials

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe facility

• Improving warehouse processes and systems as the business grows

• Driving our HR truck to/from our winery and delivering to clients, usually locally in Yarra Valley, where appropriately licensed

• Communicate with clients regarding their stock inventory and logistics

What We’re Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

• Current Forklift License - essential

• Current HR Driver Licence - desirable, but not essential

• Strong computer literacy

• Experience using inventory systems, spreadsheets and electronic stock records

• Experience in warehousing, logistics and/or inventory management

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confidence managing stock belonging to multiple clients

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the operation

• A practical, hands-on approach

• Ability to accurately plan and coordinate incoming and outgoing logistics

Experience in the wine or beverage logistics industry would be highly regarded.
