Job Description

Ready for a sizzling career move? You will play a pivotal role in our Birdie Bar & Brasserie working alongside a fantastic team. The food you prepare, cook and serve makes our guests smile and wanting more.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and cook all food orders in line with kitchen recipes and standards with a sense of urgency
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and equipment care.
• Monitor stock requirements, minimise wastage and support effective food cost control.
• Assist with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for service.
• Lead by example, support the kitchen team and assist in training and developing apprentices.
• Communicate proactively with the Head Chef/Supervisor to ensure smooth and productive service.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification and experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
• A passion for learning and career development
• Exemplary communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
• Valid Australian working rights
• The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekend & public holidays
