Mechanical Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analysing, implementing, and optimising mechanical systems and processes that support operational and project requirements. You will work closely with management, project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure engineering objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems, equipment, and components

• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, drawings, and reports

• Review mechanical designs to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards

• Assess equipment performance and identify areas for improvement

• Coordinate and oversee installation and commissioning activities for mechanical systems and equipment

• Conduct inspections, testing, and performance verification

• Monitor operational performance of mechanical equipment and systems

• Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs

• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and recommend practical solutions

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and engineering processes

• Experience in mechanical design, installation, maintenance, and performance optimisation

• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar applications

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

• Strong organisational, planning, and project coordination abilities
