Manager Contract Advisory & Panel Governance (Fixed Term Full Time Opportunity up to 12 months)

In this role, you'll:

This role will see you lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of commercial and contract governance frameworks that enable consistent, compliant and value driven contract management across Transport for NSW. 

You will provide expert advice on contract establishment, performance and variations, ensuring commercial risks are identified, managed and mitigated, and that all contractual activity aligns with NSW Government procurement and probity requirements. 

You will oversee panel and prequalification governance, ensuring operations are transparent, efficient and compliant, and that performance oversight supports strong commercial outcomes. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and the Systems & Performance team, you will help optimise contract management systems, data integrity and reporting to strengthen performance monitoring and decision making. 

With a strong commercial and governance focus, you will develop and implement reporting and assurance mechanisms, support dispute resolution and negotiations, and contribute to initiatives that enhance value for money and improve organisational capability. 

You will also lead, coach and develop team members and cross functional contributors, embedding good practice, strengthening governance controls and ensuring high quality commercial and contractual outcomes across the organisation.

This is a temporary full-time position for a period of up to 12 months.

About you

You bring extensive experience in contract management, commercial governance or procurement within large and complex organisations, ideally within the public sector. You have a strong understanding of NSW Government procurement policies, probity and assurance requirements, and the frameworks that underpin compliant and value for money commercial activity. 

You are skilled at analysing commercial risk, interpreting policy frameworks and applying structured governance processes to achieve measurable improvements in contract performance and organisational outcomes. You confidently influence stakeholders, negotiate with suppliers and lead the adoption of consistent contract management practices across diverse operational environments. 

You have experience developing and maintaining contract management systems, performance frameworks and reporting mechanisms that strengthen commercial insights and uplift organisational capability. 

You hold relevant tertiary qualifications and/or bring equivalent professional experience that demonstrates strong capability in contract and commercial governance. You also bring a sound understanding of the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework and the probity, transparency and accountability principles that guide public sector contracting.
