BAR ATTENDANT - DUNDEE BEACH TAVERN

Dundee Beach Tavern is seeking an experienced, friendly and reliable Bar Attendant to join our team at our licensed hospitality venue in Dundee Beach, Northern Territory.

The role involves providing efficient bar service, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processing customer payments and maintaining a clean, well-stocked and welcoming bar environment. The successful applicant will have strong customer service skills and be comfortable working in a busy licensed venue.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, mixing and serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, spirits and mixed drinks.

• Serving bottled and canned beverages and other products available from the bar.

• Processing customer purchases, handling payments and accurately operating the point-of-sale and cash register system.

• Providing friendly customer service and informing patrons about available beverages, venue products, promotions and services.

• Keeping bar counters, service areas, equipment and surrounding workspaces clean, organised and hygienic.

• Washing, polishing and correctly storing glassware and maintaining orderly bottle and glass displays.

• Changing beer kegs and correctly connecting beverage supply lines when required.

• Restocking bar refrigerators, shelves and beverage dispensers to maintain adequate stock throughout service.

• Monitoring bar stock and advising management when products require replenishment.

• Selling light snacks and other items available through the bar where required.

• Following responsible service of alcohol requirements and the venue's liquor licence procedures.

• Working cooperatively with other bar, kitchen and venue staff to provide efficient service to patrons.

Skills & Experience

• AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant field is desirable; or

• At least one year of relevant bar or hospitality experience may be accepted in place of a formal qualification.

• Previous experience working in a bar, pub, tavern or other licensed hospitality environment is highly regarded.

• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) & Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG) certification, or the ability to obtain the required certification for work in the Northern Territory.

• Experience handling customer payments and using point-of-sale systems.

• Good knowledge of bar service procedures and responsible alcohol service.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team during busy service periods.

• Reliable, well presented and able to work a flexible roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

The position is based at Dundee Beach Tavern, Dundee Beach NT and requires the successful applicant to work a flexible roster according to the operational requirements of the venue.
