IZAKAYA DOMO Eastend is an exciting Japanese izakaya and bar located in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and passionate Restaurant Manager to join our team and take a leading role in the day-to-day operation of our venue.

About the Role

As Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, while maintaining high standards of service, food quality and team performance.

You will work closely with the venue leadership team to ensure our guests receive an exceptional dining experience every time.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures.
• Lead, motivate and support the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding service.
• Maintain consistently high standards of customer service, presentation and hospitality.
• Manage staff performance, training, development and day-to-day team coordination.
• Create and manage staff rosters in line with business requirements.
• Monitor service standards and ensure smooth coordination between front and back of house.
• Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally and effectively.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, cost management and minimising wastage.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and liquor licensing requirements.
• Monitor venue presentation, cleanliness and overall operational standards.
• Work with the management team to improve sales, profitability and overall business performance.
• Lead by example and create a positive, respectful and professional workplace culture.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, hands-on and genuinely passionate about hospitality.

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a Restaurant Manager or similar senior hospitality role.
• Proven experience leading and managing a restaurant team.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• A strong focus on customer service and attention to detail.
• Excellent understanding of restaurant operations and service standards.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• A positive, energetic and hands-on approach to management.
• The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• A genuine interest in Japanese food, izakaya culture and hospitality is highly regarded.
• Japanese language skills are advantageous but not essential.
• You must have a valid visa

Working Hours

This is a full-time position of approximately 45 hours per week, with a flexible roster covering Monday to Sunday.

Weekend and public holiday availability is required.
