Forklift Driver

About the role

Hume Doors & Timber is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our warehouse operations team in Dandenong South, VIC. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst contributing to the efficient movement and storage of materials within our distribution facility. As a Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of goods through our warehouse, ensuring products are handled safely and delivered to the right locations on time. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety standards will be essential in supporting our logistics operations and helping us meet our customers' expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack and transport goods safely throughout the warehouse

• Loading and unloading trucks, containers and pallets with precision and care

• Maintaining accurate records of inventory movements and stock locations

• Performing pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure equipment is in safe working condition

• Following all workplace health and safety procedures and regulations at all times

• Assisting with warehouse organisation and housekeeping to maintain a clean and efficient work environment

• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate warehouse activities

• Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to management

What we're looking for

• Valid Forklift License or High-Risk Work Licence for forklift operation

• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices

• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced warehouse setting

• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual handling tasks

• Attention to detail and organisational skills

• Reliability and punctuality

• Experience with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking is desirable
