SPOT Paediatrics is a passionate team of speech pathologists and occupational therapists based in Hove and operates throughout the southern area of Adelaide. We are a close-knit team that support one another in our professional roles. We are on the lookout for a neuro-affirming Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.
Our Ideal CandidateWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinician who has a passion for working with children and families and sharing skill and expertise with our community; and is committed to implementing neuro-affirming practices and best practice in Early Intervention. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in diverse work, including individual and group therapy, joint therapy sessions with speech pathologists, and occupational therapy support for 3 and 4 year old preschoolers in long daycare centres under the Flying Start Initiative. The role will involve a mix of community and clinic based work as we grow our preschool and therapy supports in the early years in our local community.
A Typical Day May Include but Not Limited ToProviding therapy for children alongside support and coaching for caregivers in areas such as regulation, toileting, motor skill development, mealtimes, self-care, sensory processing and integration, and executive functioningContributing to OT program development and delivery of evidence-informed supports in childcare centresCollaborating with speech pathologists for joint therapy sessions and shared clients, and liaising with external providers and professionals to work collaboratively to support children and familiesCompleting documentation in a timely manner (notes, reports, letters, NDIS documentation)Participating in regular team meetings and professional development sessions
Our New Team Member Will HaveStrong collaboration and communication skillsA commitment to self-leadership and continuous learning1-2 years paediatric occupational therapy experience preferredStrong organisation skills and self-leadership skills to sustain a full caseload made up of pre-school boost supports and direct client supportsExperience providing neuro-affirming mealtime supports (preferred or willingness to learn)Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor or Masters Degree)OTA/AHPRA membershipCurrent Working with Children CheckCurrent NDIS Worker CheckCurrent driver's licenseCurrent First Aid CertificationAustralian permanent residency status required
