SAP S/4HANA ePP/DS Specialist (Sydney /Brisbane/New Zealand)

We are currently seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA ePP/DS Specialist to drive the design, configuration, and deployment of advanced production planning and scheduling capabilities within SAP S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS.

This role is ideal for a hands-on SAP planning expert who can bridge business planning requirements with enterprise-scale manufacturing solutions while supporting the transition from legacy SAP APO PP/DS to SAP S/4HANA.

The Opportunity

As the SAP S/4HANA ePP/DS Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering modern production planning capabilities that enable:

• Finite capacity planning and detailed scheduling

• Resource optimization and constraint management

• Production campaign planning and sequencing

• Material feasibility and pegging analysis

• Integration with SAP IBP Response & Supply

• End-to-end manufacturing planning transformation

You will work closely with business stakeholders, supply chain teams, architects, integration teams, and project leadership to deliver scalable, fit-to-standard SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

• Lead design workshops, fit-gap assessments, and solution blueprint activities.

• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP ePP/DS solutions.

• Define configuration approaches, process flows, and deployment strategies.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects to align planning solutions with SAP IBP and S/4HANA.

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Configure SAP S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS planning and scheduling functionality.

• Implement finite-capacity planning, resource scheduling, pegging, and exception management.

• Configure planning heuristics and optimization capabilities.

• Support scenario planning and simulation analysis.

Capacity & Resource Management

• Design resource models, shift patterns, maintenance calendars, and capacity constraints.

• Configure alerts and exception management for overloaded resources and production bottlenecks.

• Enable capacity leveling and alternate resource strategies.

Material Availability & Pegging

• Configure component availability checks and material coverage analysis.

• Support production feasibility and shortage management.

• Enable what-if planning scenarios across materials, suppliers, and production schedules.

Testing & Deployment

• Support SIT, UAT, integration testing, cutover, and go-live activities.

• Produce functional specifications, test scripts, process documentation, and training materials.

• Provide hypercare support and knowledge transfer to support teams.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of SAP Supply Chain Planning experience.

• Strong hands-on expertise in:

  • SAP APO PP/DS

  • SAP S/4HANA Embedded PP/DS

• Minimum 2 end-to-end implementations or transformation programs involving ePP/DS.

• Deep knowledge of:

  • Finite capacity planning

  • Detailed scheduling

  • Resource modeling

  • Pegging

  • Production planning heuristics

  • Exception management

• Strong understanding of manufacturing master data:

  • BOMs

  • Routings

  • Production Versions

  • PDS

  • Resources/Work Centers

  • Calendars

• Experience integrating SAP ePP/DS with SAP IBP, Manufacturing, MM, QM, and EWM processes.

• Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• SAP IBP Response & Supply integration.

• SAP BTP Integration Suite.

• CPI-DS, RTI, APIs, and middleware integration.

• Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Process Manufacturing, or Pharmaceutical industries.

• Production campaign planning and quality release processes.

• Planning analytics, KPI reporting, and manufacturing performance metrics.
