UCentric is exclusively partnering with a growing e-commerce business with a major production and fulfilment site in West Melbourne.
We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will support purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory analysis and procurement activity across a fast-moving production environment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working close to operations, using data to make purchasing decisions, and helping ensure the business has the right stock available at the right time.
About the roleYou will work closely with procurement, warehousing, logistics, finance, product and engineering teams to support day-to-day purchasing activity and supplier management.
Your focus will be on analysing stock and inventory levels, placing supplier orders, avoiding overstock or out-of-stock situations, supporting sourcing projects and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong purchasing or procurement background who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where their work has a direct impact on production and customer delivery.
Key responsibilitiesAnalyse stock and inventory levels to support purchasing decisions.Place orders with local and international suppliers.Help prevent overstock and out-of-stock situations.Support sourcing projects for new product development.Assist with MRP automation and purchase order process improvements.Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.Organise samples for testing of new materials or suppliers.Support supplier conversations and smaller negotiation opportunities.Prepare stock health reporting and provide visibility on stock risks.Work closely with warehousing, logistics, finance, product and engineering stakeholders.
About youYou will bring a purchasing or procurement background, ideally from a manufacturing, production, FMCG, packaging, print, logistics, supply chain or other fast-moving operational environment.You do not need to be the most senior person in the market, but you will need to be confident managing frequent orders, working with multiple suppliers and using data to support purchasing decisions.
You will be someone who is curious, practical, proactive and comfortable asking questions. The environment is busy and operationally complex, so this role will suit someone who enjoys solving problems, learning quickly and staying close to the detail.
What we are looking forExperience in procurement, purchasing, buying, inventory, materials planning or supply chain.Experience working in a fast-moving operational or manufacturing-style environment.SAP experience is required, ideally within purchasing or a related module.Strong Excel and / or Google Sheets capability.Experience analysing stock, inventory or supplier data.Confidence working with local and international suppliers.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.Comfort working primarily onsite at a West Melbourne production / fulfilment site.
