Employment Development Consultant - Wilson ( 1 year Fixed Term - 45 Hours/FN)

About the role

The Employment Development Consultant (EDC) is responsible for supporting job placement and labour‑market engagement for unemployed participants living with MS and other progressive neurological conditions under our IEA contract. The role focuses on helping participants secure meaningful employment within the open labour market that aligns with their goals.
This position works closely with the Employment Support Services Manager and the Employment Support Allied Health Clinicians to ensure participants receive coordinated, high‑quality support that leads to the best possible employment outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Manage and maintain an active caseload of participants, ensuring consistent engagement and progress.
• Secure suitable employment opportunities for individuals with progressive neurological conditions, tailored to their goals and circumstances.
• Conduct job‑seeker assessments in collaboration with allied health clinicians to identify vocational goals and barriers.
• Prepare and refine job‑search materials, including resumes, cover letters and application documents.
• Actively job‑seek on behalf of participants and provide regular, targeted job referrals.
• Reverse‑market participants to employers across both visible and hidden job markets.
• Build and maintain strong employer relationships, supported by an up‑to‑date employer database and scheduled follow‑ups.
• Facilitate ongoing participant appointments, training, development activities and work‑experience opportunities.
• Monitor and support both employer and employee during job placement, ensuring sustainable employment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case notes and contractual documentation

Must-haves

• Proven success placing job seekers with disabilities into sustainable employment.
• Strong track record of meeting targets and achieving employment outcomes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage participants and employers.
• NDIS Workers Screening check and Workers Orientation Module Certificate
• Police Clearance

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience within the Employment Services, Training, Rehabilitation, or Community Services or a similar type sector
• Cert IV in Employment Services or Cert III in Disability Services
