Director Allied Health

What you'll do

As the Director Allied Health, you will provide authoritative strategic advice on state and national allied health initiatives and issues, particularly in relation to workforce professional practice, governance and stewardship regulation. You will lead the development and implementation of complex, high-profile statewide initiatives that strengthen workforce capability, clinical and professional governance, and service delivery, while driving alignment with state and national priorities. Working collaboratively with Hospital and Health Services, universities, professional associations, regulatory bodies, and government partners, you will establish and maintain strong strategic partnerships across the health sector. You will lead the negotiation and management of complex agreements and collaborative initiatives that advance allied health priorities. Through these partnerships, you will drive the development and delivery of innovative, sustainable solutions that strengthen allied health professions and services and respond to the evolving needs of Queensland communities.

We are searching for someone who has:

• A formal qualification in an eligible Health Practitioner profession (as listed in the Health Practitioners and Dental Officers (Queensland Health Certified Agreement (no.4) 2022) from a recognised tertiary institution which will permit registration with the relevant professional registration board, or eligibility for membership/accreditation with a professional association.
• Demonstrated ability to provide authoritative expert advice and guidance on complex allied health policy and regulation, professional and accreditation standards, and reform matters to internal and external stakeholders including government executives and peak organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee the implementation of major, complex and high-profile allied health initiatives at a strateigc, state-wide capacity to enable changes in workforce capability, capacity and models of service that meet the needs of the community.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key Australian and Queensland Government agencies and non-government partners and other stakeholders to consult and influence the direction of policy and initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to strategically assess, develop and implement state-wide government policy, strategies, protocols and priorities consistent with other relevant state and national government initiatives, and manage requests for briefings and information
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a leadership team to deliver strategic commitments and respond to emergent issues.
