Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic and growing business group, which manages a diverse portfolio of operating businesses, real estate and financial assets.

This is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing the Group’s day-to-day accounting and financial operations. It is well suited to a capable self-starter who enjoys being close to the numbers while also working with different parts of the business to strengthen processes, improve controls and support better decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records

• Manage sales and purchase invoices and the end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

• Monitor expenditure and support effective financial controls

• Liaise with customers, suppliers and other external parties to ensure timely payments and collections

• Perform and review general ledger and account reconciliations

• Prepare management reports and analyse financial information

• Conduct periodic audit and compliance checks for management review

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, procedures and internal controls

• Work with stakeholders across the Group to improve financial workflows and operational efficiency

• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reports to support business requirements and management decision-making

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have experience managing a full set of accounts within an SME or medium-sized business environment. Other key qualifications and experience include:

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline

• Strong technical accounting knowledge

• Strong Xero experience – essential

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to present financial information clearly and effectively

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• The ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

• A proactive, hands-on working style

• The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team

Experience in internal or external audit, or previous management experience, will be highly regarded.
