We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of Skala Bakery. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, coordinating front-of-house operations, and upholding food safety and service standards.

Task & responsibilities

Café Management

Manage the day-to-day operations

Monitor sales, identify new sales and product opportunities, and track KPIs against our business objectives

Manage staff rosters and maintain roster KPI

Set and monitor budgets for payroll and purchasing

Order products for sale from Skala wholesale and other suppliers

Maintain product display, signage, uniform standards, and the overall presentation of the venue

Maintain the premises in good order and repair

Staff leadership and people management

Model a safe, respectful, and harmonious workplace culture

Provide positive, "can do" leadership and support staff development

Assist with recruiting, training, and manage the performance of new staff

Delegate tasks, manage workflow, and run team meetings as needed

Keep the Retail Operation Manager informed on staff discipline, morale, and customer feedback

Records, food safety, and compliance

Record sales, expenses, and operational data as required

Maintain the highest standards of food safety and personal hygiene, in line with Skala's food safety policies

Maintain temperature and stock transfer records

Monitor and maintain a safe workplace in line with WHS requirements

Qualification & experience

• At least one year of relevant work experience in hospitality management
• A qualification in hospitality, business, or management is preferred
• Experience in a management role in a café or restaurant setting
• Experience managing and supervising staff
• Able to supervise staff, direct work, and inspire the team
• Strong time management, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a small or large team
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
• Open to feedback and continuous improvement
