About Us

Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) has just built Western Australia’s newest gold mine, and key to our success is securing an experienced Mine Surveyor – Underground to join our Mining team at our new flagship site – Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra.  

The project is a combined open pit and underground gold mining operation with an initial 10-year mine life. Open pit mining commenced in March 2025 and the Underground mining commenced in July 2025.     

About the Role

The Mine Surveyor – Underground will report into the Chief Surveyor is responsible a day-to-day basis for survey control in the underground operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct surveys of all underground areas and ongoing maintenance of the void models.

• Ensuring all excavations, underground development is picked up including conducting timely Elios 3 Drone surveys of stope voids and analytics.

• Installing appropriate control in development drives to ensure direction and grade are maintained on design.

• Maintaining up to date data entry records and ensure data is available when required.

• Provide all relevant survey data to mine production/management personnel in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

• Produce plans when required including drilling memos, development memos, traffic management plans, emergency plans, statutory mine plans.

• Complete end of month surveys in a timely manner and issue the relevant underground pickups for development advance and stoping volumes are issued.

• Provide technical and surveying support to the Management Team.

• All responsibilities as listed in the Health & Safety Management Plan shall be adhered to.

• Directions, tasks, projects and requirements received from the Mine Manager are completed.

• Comply with the HSE and legal requirements detailed in the Company’s Health and Safety policy, HSE Management Standards.

 About You

• Relevant qualifications (will consider those with no qualifications but demonstrated experiance)

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Underground Mining environment.

• Proficiency in mining planning software (Surpac/Deswik).

• Proficiency in mine survey instruments (Leica).

• Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of software.

• Valid C Western Australian Drivers Licence.

• Valid National Police Clearance.

You will be accommodated in a well-appointed mine village with a fully equipped gym, WIFI with streaming capacity, and full Telstra coverage. Catering is provided by the Company’s own catering and facilities management team with a budget that supports a wide variety of high-quality food options from our own Chefs.
