Light Vehicle Mechanic | Sino Iron

PPS Servicing has proven experience and capabilities in the mining industry with maintenance, construction, engineering design, fabrication and installation of industrial facilities.

Due to the recent award of a major long-term contract, we are expanding our workforce and seeking talented individuals to join our team. This new contract provides ongoing opportunities across multiple positions and offers the stability of long-term project work within a well-established and growing organisation.

We are currently seeking a LV Mechanic to join our growing team at Sino Iron Project, Cape Preston.

Position: LV Mechanic – 2:1 Roster (Day shift only)
Location: Sino Iron Ore, Cape Preston (FIFO from Perth)
Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this position will be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and inspections across a range of site equipment including Light Vehicles, LR Trucks, Franna Cranes, and Forklifts.

As an experienced Plant Mechanic, you will bring strong technical knowledge, fault-finding capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining equipment to a high standard. The successful candidate will have proven post-trade experience, with approximately 1–2+ years’ experience preferred, along with the ability to confidently diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a fast-paced site environment. You will play an integral role in supporting safe and reliable site operations through quality maintenance practices

To be considered for the role, you must possess the following:

• MUST HAVE experience working with mobile equipment such as forklifts, light trucks, bobcats, telehandlers

• Relevant Mechanic Trade Qualification or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and petrol vehicles, mobile plant, and associated equipment.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritise tasks, and work across multiple maintenance requirements.

• Previous experience working within a team environment and independently, with a strong commitment to safety and collaboration.

• Basic to intermediate computer skills with the ability to complete maintenance reporting and documentation.

Mandatory Requirements

• Australian Trade Certificate in relation to Automotive Industry

• Forklift Licence (Desirable)

• Current Australian Drivers Licence (HR Desirable)

• Valid White Card

• Valid Elevated Working Platforms

• Valid Working Safely at Heights / Confined Spaces Tickets (Desirable)

Applicants will be required to:

• Undertake and pass a Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Test before commencement.

• Be clean shaven & work wearing a P2 Respiratory Mask
