Defence & Security
Bureau Veritas’ Defence and Security business is designed to offer flexibility in service delivery, enabling operations from our offices, client locations, or remote settings as required. We bring together the best industry and project management professionals in a team structure tailored to Defence and suited to delivering multiple projects across the country.
The Opportunity
As part of our growing Defence portfolio, Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced and driven Scheduling / Program Manager to play a key role in delivering some of Australia's most significant Defence infrastructure programs.
In this pivotal position, you will lead program-wide scheduling, forecasting, and project controls activities, ensuring critical milestones are achieved and complex programs remain aligned with strategic objectives. Working across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups, you'll provide the visibility, governance, and insights required to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned scheduling professional with advanced Microsoft Project expertise and a proven ability to operate within complex, high-profile environments. Experience within Defence, government, or major infrastructure programs will be highly regarded.
With Defence projects continuing to expand nationally, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects of national significance while working with a collaborative and highly regarded team.
Please note: This is a national role and can be based from any Bureau Veritas office across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and manage integrated program schedules using Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment across multiple projects, workstreams, and stakeholders. Provide accurate forecasting, status reporting, and schedule analysis to support program performance and strategic decision-making.
Drive schedule governance, assurance, and quality control activities across regional project teams.
Support the integration of client and Bureau Veritas scheduling, reporting, and project controls frameworks.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen scheduling capability across the business, including mentoring, training, and team development.
Undertake schedule trend analysis, performance monitoring, and risk identification to proactively manage program outcomes.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and key stakeholders to ensure scheduling practices are consistent, transparent, and aligned with program objectives.
About You
Extensive experience in program scheduling, project controls, or program management roles within complex project environments.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, with demonstrated experience managing large-scale integrated schedules.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex program data into meaningful insights.
Experience working within Defence, government, infrastructure, construction, or similarly regulated environments.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
The ability to lead, mentor, and develop scheduling capability across diverse teams.
Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
