ServiceNow ITOM Senior Developer

Role: ServiceNow ITOM Senior DeveloperLocation: Melbourne, VICDuration: 12 months

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow ITOM solutions, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, CMDB, Cloud Discovery, and AIOps.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Configure and customize ServiceNow ITOM applications based on functional and technical specifications.Develop and maintain Discovery schedules, patterns, probes, sensors, and MID Server configurations to ensure accurate infrastructure discovery.Implement and support Service Mapping solutions for business services, applications, and infrastructure components.Configure Event Management components, including event rules, alert correlation, alert aggregation, event transformations, operational intelligence, and remediation workflows.Design and develop integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, AppDynamics, and other monitoring platforms.Develop custom applications, workflows, Flow Designer solutions, Script Includes, Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and REST/SOAP integrations.Support CMDB implementation and maintenance activities, including CI class creation, relationship mapping, identification and reconciliation rules, and data quality improvements.Develop automation solutions using ServiceNow Orchestration, IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and scripting frameworks.Troubleshoot complex platform issues related to Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, integrations, and CMDB operations.Create technical design documents, configuration guides, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and release management activities.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, production deployments, and hypercare activities.Ensure platform performance, scalability, security, and adherence to ServiceNow development best practices.Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and application teams to improve service visibility and operational efficiency.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and implementation team members.Support CMDB governance initiatives and continuous service improvement programs.

Required Skills & Experience6-10 years of overall IT experience with 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.Strong experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.Expertise in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and Service Portal development.Hands-on experience with MID Servers, Discovery Patterns, Probes, Sensors, and Service Mapping implementations.Experience developing REST and SOAP integrations with external systems and monitoring tools.Strong understanding of CMDB data models, CSDM, Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), and CMDB governance.Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including Windows, Linux, networking, virtualization, databases, and middleware platforms.Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management.Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevOps practices.Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills
