Permanent Early Childhood Educator (Diploma)

Coolamon Shire Council is currently recruiting for suitably qualified Permanent Early Childhood Educators (Diploma) to partner and provide support to our room leaders and educators. 

Coolamon Early Childhood Centre is a 47 place centre offering care and early education to children aged 0-5 years. The Centre’s operating hours are 7.00am-6.00pm Monday-Friday, and has recently been renovated and extended to provide open plan indoor learning spaces and a large, spacious outdoor playground.

Our Centre educators pride themselves on providing quality education and care for young children in a safe environment that is inclusive of children and family input. We advocate that through supporting and valuing our team members, educators are able to provide early year’s education and care based on the principles and practices outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework. 

What you'll be doing

• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating engaging learning programs and activities for children aged 3-5 years

• Observe and document children's development, providing individualised support and care

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families and the wider community

• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment, adhering to all relevant health, safety and child protection regulations

• Collaborate with the pre-school director to continuously improve teaching practices and the quality of the service

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

• Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care

• Previous experience working as an Early Childhood Educator, in a long day care or preschool setting

• Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children and families

• Current First Aid certificate, including anaphylaxis and asthma management training

• Working with Children Check clearance

The hourly rate for this role will be dependent on qualifications and years of experience.
