Blacktown Boys High School (Years 7–12) is a partially selective public school located on Darug land, within walking distance of the Blacktown CBD. With an enrolment of approximately 908 students, the school embraces a diverse student body, including 22.8% from non-English speaking backgrounds and 1.8% Aboriginal students. The school offers a range of educational pathways through its academically selective stream, High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) class, mainstream classes, and an Inclusive Education Unit consisting of four class. Blacktown Boys is committed to fostering academic and creative excellence, and aims to develop resilient, confident young men equipped with strong communication, collaboration, and lifelong learning skills. The school prioritises literacy and numeracy, differentiated learning, student wellbeing, and collaborative explicit teaching. Recognised for its strong outcomes and inclusive culture, Blacktown Boys continues to experience increasing enrolments, affirming its status as a place where boys thrive.
Specific Selection Criteria1. Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience in supporting students with Autism, intellectual disabilities and complex learning and behavioural needs.
2. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate differentiated, personalised education programs that are data-informed to maximise student engagement, growth, and achievement.
3. Proven skills in effective classroom management, employing flexible and adaptive strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that supports diverse student needs.
4. Highly developed communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating with students, parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies to build and sustain an inclusive school culture.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
