We are seeking two experienced Full Time Histology Cut-Up Scientists to join our dedicated team in Thornleigh. These full-time roles require availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends.
The positions involve contributing to the daily operations of our busy histology laboratory, performing routine histology techniques, IHC, special stains, specimen preparation, and gross examination/cut-up of routine and complex skin specimens. Key responsibilities include maintaining instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with NATA accreditation standards, and upholding quality assurance protocols.
Perform gross examination/cut-up of routine and complex skin specimens.
Carry out specimen preparation and routine histology techniques.
Perform immunohistochemistry, IHC, and special stains.
Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Ensure compliance with NATA accreditation and quality management systems.
Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and turnaround times.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Work efficiently within a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment with minimal supervision.
Provide team support by being reliable, flexible, collaborative, and self-motivated.
Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an AIMS-accredited equivalent (minimum requirement).
Demonstrated experience working in a histology laboratory, with proven specimen cut-up experience.
High attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a high-volume environment.
A current driver's licence and reliable transport.
Availability to participate in a roster including weekends and public holidays when required.
