Assistant Store Manager

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager to join our busy showroom. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys sales, design, customer service and supporting a team to deliver an excellent showroom experience.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you will help oversee day-to-day store operations, support the sales team, assist customers with selections, maintain showroom presentation and contribute to achieving sales targets.

What you will be doing

·         Assist the Store Manager with daily showroom operations, team support and sales performance.

·         Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to retail customers, builders, renovators, designers and trades.

·         Help customers with their selections to suit their project, budget and style.

·         Prepare quotes, process orders, follow up enquiries and maintain strong customer relationships.

·         Support stock control, merchandising, product displays and showroom presentation.

·         Lead by example on the showroom floor and help coach team members to deliver great service.

·         Assist with rostering, task allocation, sales reporting and general store administration.

·         Promote a safe, organised and positive workplace for customers and the team.

What we are looking for

·         Previous retail, showroom, building products, flooring, natural stone, tiles, bathroom ware or interiors experience is highly regarded.

·         Experience leading, supervising or mentoring a small team.

·         Strong customer service and sales skills with a genuine focus on helping customers.

·         Confident communication skills and the ability to build rapport with different customer types.

·         Strong attention to detail when preparing quotes, orders and customer follow-ups.

·         Organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

·         A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn products, trends and installation basics.

·         Availability to work retail trading hours, including Saturdays.
