About The Role

Our client is currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the detection and coordination of incident response to threats, both foreign and domestic, against critical electoral systems.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible in augmenting the existing operations team to assist in uplifting the existing capability. Responsible for the maintenance of cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets and will take a lead role in the build of the cyber security architecture through consultation with client's internal teams to secure this architecture. Responsible to work primarily in the office. Ability to work shifts as required in response to cyber security incident, and also to support electoral events at key periods (e.g. close of rolls, polling day)

Skills & Experience

Experience using Sentinel or a similar SIEM solution is essentialIn-depth familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security ManualExperience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, firewalls and IDS/IPSExtensive experience in Windows, Linux, networking and system administrationExperience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS)

Desirables

Experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal government entitiesExtensive experience in cyber incident response
