Cobalt Diesel Services is a growing, Australian-owned and operated heavy diesel business based in Perth, Western Australia. We specialise in labour hire, field service, diagnostics and component change-outs across the mining, exploration and construction sectors throughout WA.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Exploration Drill Fitters to join our FIFO team on a 2:2 roster in Western Australia.

About the Role

Working a 2:2 FIFO roster with day shifts only in Western Australia, you'll be part of a professional maintenance team responsible for keeping exploration drill rigs and associated equipment operating safely and reliably.

As an Exploration Drill Fitter with Cobalt Diesel Services, you'll play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of exploration drill rigs and associated equipment across goldfields operations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Carrying out planned maintenance and routine servicing

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

• Responding to breakdowns in a safe and timely manner

• Conducting inspections, servicing and repairs on exploration drill rigs and associated equipment.

• Completing maintenance records in accordance with company procedures

• Working closely with site personnel to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

• Maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality and housekeeping standards
  

Key Requirements

• Australian-recognised Trade Qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Mechanical Fitter

• Previous experience maintaining exploration drill rigs within the mining or exploration industry

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and fault-finding skills

• Experience carrying out planned maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs

• Current Australian Manual Driver's Licence (HR Licence highly regarded)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a FIFO environment

• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen

• National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)

Desirable Experience

Experience working on exploration drill rigs including UDR1000, Hydco, Austex, Hanjin, Schramm or similar equipment will be highly regarded.
